Yesterday the foothills of Colorado got absolutely crushed by 40+ inches of snow. In Genesee Park, the scenes were quite dramatic as cars got completely buried under the snowfall. Sadly, this storm system turned tragic last night and multiple, significant tornadoes destroyed sections of towns just 30 minutes from where I grew up including Indian Lake. I'm still extremely sad as I took my first fishing trips with my dad as a kid there, my friends have a business and houses there, and so many fond memories of fireworks and camping trips. I will be heading to Ohio tonight to cover the aftermath of this event for AccuWeather. Very sobering assignment, but they are stories that need told.
