Happy Diwali πͺ This year Iβm celebrating Diwali with Makkan peda , a popular, sweet delicacy from the town of Arcot in the Indian state of Tamil NΔdu. It is similar in taste to gulab jamun but richer, with a stuffing of mixed nuts and a soak in saffron syrup. This is a childhood favorite of mine, and I have created a replica of this recipe in the form of a cake. Every bite of this cake will remind you of the authentic makkan peda, and if youβre a fan of gulab jamun, then youβre in for a treat. Moreover, this cake recipe is eggless, staying true to the traditional gulab jamun recipe.
