Born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, #CHOPHeartWarrior Thomas had a 50% chance of making it to his first reconstructive heart surgery. When his parents, Yaniv and Sarah, learned of Thomas' diagnosis they were referred to our Fetal Heart Program, where they gained a dedicated team of fetal sonographers, fetal cardiologists, nurse coordinators and social workers to guide them through every step of their journey. After Thomas was born in CHOPFetalCenter's Garbose Family Special Delivery Unit, he gained a new team and underwent his first heart surgery. Today, Thomas is thriving since his third heart surgery last year - walking, talking and singing.
