Arizona Monster 300 — Day 5 Recap by letswanderproductions The sunsets feel deeper now. The colors more vivid. Our athletes have settled into a rhythm that’s carrying them nearly a third of the way through Arizona, across the Sonoran Desert. As the desert heat fades with the evening, hundreds of runners move through Tucson, the heart of Southern Arizona. The front of the pack is already reaching Patagonia, setting times for a distance so long it’s unclear what “normal” will even look like. But these athletes are used to defying normal. They train while others sleep. Layer up to face subzero temps in Colorado and Canada. Run mountain trails, NYC streets, and laps through Central Park. From Australia, Wales, Hungary, Egypt, Israel and the Czech Republic. They’re trained and traveled from all over the world. “I wouldn’t even drive that far,” or “I only run if something’s chasing me” those are just part of the job. They’re not here to be understood.
