I had such a blast (no pun intended) creating this space-themed baby shower setup over the weekend! Here’s my two biggest pieces of advice when curating an elevated color palette:
1. When the client wants white, try to go for an off-white instead. True white tends to be very stark and can sometimes cheapen the overall look of the setup. There’s definitely a right time for true white, but if you’re going for elegant I’d say pass. I used betallic sempertex Pastel Dusk Cream in lieu of white and it softened up the palette perfectly!
2. When your client wants some sort of chrome in their design, make sure you’re selecting one that in the same tonal family as the rest of your palette. For example, if I had opted for gold in this setup the warmth of the gold would have clashed with the coolness of the blues and would have made the whole palette look awkward.
