🐢 Last week, #seaworldfoundation joined australian_seabird_rescue team to return Ivan, a three-flippered sub-adult green turtle back to the ocean at Ballina. 🐢 Ivan was found stranded in Ballina back in April and was transported to #seaworldaus marine hospital where our veterinary team identified he was suffering from a severe bone infection. 🐢 After several months of rehabilitation including being placed on a course of antibiotics, Ivan was healthy enough to return to Ballina. 🐢 Excitingly, Ivan has an acoustic tag on his carapace as part of a collaboration with nswnationalparks to allow researchers to monitor marine turtles’ movements.
