When Detective Senior Constable Josh Guy left school in regional Victoria, he went on to study science in the hope that one day he could change the world.
He quickly realised he saw more value in changing the world for one person at a time. That’s when he joined Victoria Police.
Josh now finds himself working across specialist areas including Sexual Offences, Child Abuse and Family Violence – in our eyes, helping change lives every day.
His passion for working with and helping victims stemmed from an incident he attended, where a woman was abused throughout her entire life, leading to such poor self-esteem that she required hospitalisation.
“I knew when I met that woman, that I wanted to do everything I could to help her and others, in situations where they feel completely helpless.”
Given the difficult and sensitive nature of the work, Josh knows he can rely on his colleagues, his family, friends and support services for guidance when he needs it most.
