A group of scientists have made the dire wolf de-extinct. Colossal Biosciences brought back the extinct creature 12,500 years after they died off using a complex "de-extiction" method they say could support conservation efforts and save endangered species before they are lost. The scientists created three pups – Romulus, Remus and Khaleesi — just like the ones in Game of Thrones. Using two samples from dire wolves paired with CRISPR technology, they essential cloned the animal.
