Captain Phil Simpson of the West Alabama human trafficking task force asks the public to stay alert and vigilant against a viral social media trend called, "Catch The Predator." Authorities are taking action on recent social media encounters that have become harmful to minors, and are warning residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. "A lot of children are contacted within just a couple of hours from being on the internet. And so if your child, or a friend of your child, or somebody that you know are being contracted by a predator," he says. "Make sure you get screenshots of those text messages and contact your local law enforcement immediately." He continues to say "We have the ability to go after these people and make a real difference."
