Omaima Al Garaawi, a Creighton pharmacy student in Phoenix originally from of Iraq, is passionate about standing up for justice and supporting underserved communities. 💙
Recently, Omaima joined the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (IFTJ) in Washington, D.C., where she met with Nebraska legislators to discuss the Climate Displaced Persons Act.
🗣️ “My key takeaways were the importance of collective action, the power of storytelling in advocacy and how faith can serve as a foundation for justice work,” shares Omaima.
Creighton’s delegation, led by the Schlegel Center for Service and Justice, joined 1,700+ attendees for this inspiring three-day event. As the largest Catholic social justice gathering in the U.S., the IFTJ empowers students from across North America to advocate for meaningful change.
