Sophomore Sylvie DeGalan dropped 11 seconds in her 500 yard freestyle, the most time dropped for SM East swim. The SM East swim team placed second in the meet behind Blue Valley North. The girls 200 yard A-Relay got disqualified for the third year in a row due to a false start. The 200 yard Medley A-Relay, 200 yard Free B-Relay, and 400 yard Free A-Relay all qualified for state. In between races the girls would go to their coach, Chris Copeland, to get motivational speeches and gummy bears straight from her pocket. Senior Emmy Barrett, junior Georgia Boyd, freshman Darcy Kroening, sophomore Addie Clark, sophomore Anne Bowser, sophomore Coco Reiser, sophomore Vada Walsh, senior Francie Garrison and junior Natalie Jones maintained state cuts and or consideration during this meet.
