Steve G.’s Mk4 Roadster, “Wildfire,” has been making waves on the show circuit. At the indoor Rod & Custom Show in Monticello, it earned 2nd in Class – Special Interest and 4th Best of Show. Then at the invite-only La Crosse Custom Auto Show, it swept the field—winning Best Engine, Paint, Interior, Display, and 1st in Class. But Wildfire is more than just a show car—it’s a tribute car. Steve bravely shares, “I lost my wife Carol to cancer and later my daughter Brenda Marie, who missed her mom deeply. In their memory, I support cancer and suicide awareness whenever I can. My Mk4 Roadster is named Wildfire after the Michael Martin Murphey song—a story of loss, hard work, and the hope of riding together again one day. Thank you to Factory Five. I’m truly humbled.” Steven’s nephew, Gavin, captured Wildfire at the Rod and Custom Car Show in Monticello, Iowa, where it stood out among the best—including another Factory Five that earned 2nd place.
