In 1960, the inaugural edition of Dave Campbell's Texas Football was released, featuring texasfootball running back Jack Collins as the first-ever cover athlete. The 1960 issue, which was 96 pages long, was published by Dave Campbell from his kitchen in Waco. Collins, a graduate of hpisdschools, spent three seasons at the University of Texas, earning All-Southwest Conference honors in 1959.
