At 72, Lenny Santoro is living proof of the power of NIH-funded research. After being diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in 2011, he participated in two clinical trials at the Duke Cancer Instituteโ€”the second one proving to be a life-changing success. Now cancer-free, Lenny is dedicated to advocating for research funding, even testifying before the FDA to help approve the drug that saved his life. He enjoys daily workouts, walks along the trail near his Chapel Hill home, and cherishing time with his wife and his granddaughter. Watch his inspiring journey!
