Spring is here and the clouds are beginning to part, giving those of us in western Oregon a better chance at catching a full moon. The only catch? This month’s moon might seem a little small. The April 12 full moon is what’s sometimes known as a “micromoon” (the opposite of a “supermoon”) meaning it will appear a little smaller and less bright than usual. That’s because the full phase coincides with the moon’s farthest point in its orbit — it’s literally just a little farther away.
