8yrs ago, working on my debut album in the NZ redbullstudios I was introduced to a young kiwi native on the cusp of his big break (producing a record for 21savage ). It’s hard to believe after years of friendship, touring apart & together, ‘Skyline’ is our first offical release. I’ve watched montell2099 grow into one of the most esteemed producers in our scene & feel we have come together at a pinnacle moment. ‘Effortlessly fun’ is how I would describe this record. A swung rhythm switchup & manic FM lead, perched off the back of an iconic Montell arpeggiated buildup. A spontaneous frenzy seems to erupt no matter where in the world I drop this.
