The SM East Lancers defeated the SM West Vikings 5-2 on Tuesday, April 8. Five minutes into the first half, the Vikings scored their first goal. Junior Louisa Holzbeierlein scored for the Lancers four minutes later, tying up the score 1-1. Senior Gia Tuso scored her first goal as a varsity player 17 minutes into the game from the right side of the field outside the 18-yard box,making the score 2-1. Sophomore Addy Newman scored with 11 minutes remaining in the first half. Sophomore Bella Tilgner received a red card with eight minutes remaining. Tilgner came out of the box to save a ball, however, because she got a handball outside of the box on a scoring opportunity, she had to be sent off the field. Freshman Landry Duchene replaced Tilgner for the rest of the game. Holzbeierlein scored her second goal of the game with six minutes remaining in the first half.
