In the early 1990s, Roslyn Neiman, a real estate agent with Howard Hanna, was raising her young family at 701 Ivy Street in Shadyside when one day a photographer showed up at her door. “He said that he loved the outside of the house and wanted to use it as an exterior shot in TV shows, so we let him,” said Neiman. “After that, I’d see the front of my house when I turned on the television.” One of the shows that regularly used the house’s exterior was the sitcom “Hope & Gloria,” which was set in Pittsburgh and starred Alan Thicke. The five-bedroom, 3½-bath home with 3,708 square feet of living space is now on the market for $1.395 million.
