Eight local elected officials brought their competitive spirit (and love for Midlands nonprofits) to our #MidlandsGives2024 Block Party at Segra Park. From balancing baseballs to stacking apples, these officials battled it out for an opportunity to award $500 to nonprofits of their choosing. At the end of the challenge, 11 organizations were selected: • The Dyslexia Resource Center • City Year Columbia • West Columbia Beautification Foundation • The Therapy Place • Mission Lexington • Palmetto Place Children and Youth Services • Cayce Public Safety Foundation • Richland County First Steps to School Readiness • Lee County First Steps • Big Red Barn Retreat • Kershaw County Sheriffs Foundation Congratulations to these organizations, and a special thank you to our enthusiastic participants!
