The Churchill School, a former six-room schoolhouse in Baker City that’s been remade into an arts incubator, is a constant hive of activity. It’s home to a concert venue, arts studio, bike hostel, recording studio, book publisher and a haunted house. When its owners purchased it in 2018, the unused, 100-year-old school was boarded up and vandalized. Now it’s become a hub for new artists and traveling musicians stopping in Eastern Oregon.
