OPEN MIC: Sophomore Jeremy Boulter wanted to give a space where LGBTQIA+ member can feel safe to express their feelings, so Boutler came up with the open mic event. The event occurred during MAC Pride Week on April 2 in the library. The speakers during the event offered different perspectives about their queer identity, their own experiences and some original poetry. Boulter spoke about the value of community and how to foster it in times of need. “It was honestly really powerful and inspiring to see so many people go up and share,” Boulter said. “I hope we can make it a yearly Pride Week tradition!” Boulter first got the idea on the day after President Trump was re-elected.
