Co-editor in chief Nate Williams, sports editor Callen Romell and photo editor Julia Copas represented the Shield and MacJ today by presenting sessions at the annual Interscholastic League Press Conference spring journalism convention held on the University of Texas campus today in the University Teaching Center. Williams spoke to convention attendees about the Shield’s weekly online photo essay, sharing how it came to be and the process by which the Shield staff works together each week to create a 10-image, 10-caption photo essay every Tuesday. Copas and Romell spoke about their podcast series Friday Knight Lights sharing how they came up with the concept for the podcast, how they produce it and how the show has evolved since it was piloted last year.
