On Tuesday evening, we marked the bicentenary of the birth of William Thomson, better known as Lord Kelvin, in Westminster. This was the latest in the ongoing programme of events to commemorate #Kelvin200. The event, sponsored by pjferguson18, MP for Glasgow West, was attended by MPs and policymakers, as well as some of the country’s leading scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and academics. Professor Chris Johnson, Chief Scientific Adviser to scitechgovuk, gave a speech reflecting on Kelvin’s lasting legacy and influence.
