The Philadelphia Portal is leaving LOVE Park and heading to its new home on Monday morning. The eye-shaped sculpture, which connects Philly with other countries across the globe, is making its move to the City Hall Courtyard at 9 a.m.
A police escort and parade will transport the Portal along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and stop in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum before continuing to the City Hall Courtyard, where owners say it should be reinstalled and up and running by lunchtime.
The Portal will remain in the City Hall Courtyard for about a year before being moved to another location closer to Independence Hall for the country's 250th anniversary celebrations in 2026.
