Lighting was all natural — just sunlight and a handheld 2x4’ white bounce for fill. We tracked the forecast and saw a break in the rain lining up with golden hour. Took the risk — and right as the clouds parted, we got clean sun and textured skies. Felt like it was meant to be. Music video + visualizers for josephdjones We wanted to shoot anamorphic, but had to deliver vertical for socials. Cropping a widescreen image meant losing too much resolution—so we flipped a 100mm Lomo roundfront sideways to get a full-frame, near full-res 1:1 anamorphic image. The result gave us horizontal oval bokeh and vertical flares. Since you can’t vertically desqueeze in-camera or on monitors, we had to get crafty—routing the image to a computer for desqueeze, then back into camera. Two Teradeks, in and out.
