Marcus Winston and two-year-old A.J were the victims in a tragic shooting incident that led to the conviction of Tyrese Bell. A Tuscaloosa County jury found Bell guilty of capital murder after hearing he was driving the vehicle when his co-defendant opened fire at a house where A.J. was playing outside. Judge Allen W. May sentenced Bell to life in prison without the possibility of parole. At the time of the incident, Bell was on probation for a prior conviction related to shooting into an unoccupied building. Evidence presented included witness testimony that described the vehicle slowing down before the shots were fired, as well as insights into Bell's gang involvement from the Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit and forensic analysts.
