Postpartum care in Western medicine often ends after six weeks. But for Black and Indigenous communities, healing after birth has always extended far beyond a single appointment. It’s ancestral. It’s sacred. It’s rooted in the land. Herbalism has long played a vital role in pregnancy and postpartum care—supporting wombs, spirits, and entire lineages. From red raspberry leaf to calendula baths, these practices are not trends. They’re traditions. Reclaiming plant medicine alongside midwifery and doula care can help reduce complications and maternal mortality—offering Black birthing people the full-spectrum care they’ve always deserved. 🌿 #BlackMaternalHealthWeek
