Egmont Key State Park is back! ☀️🌴🐢 After months of cleanup and recovery from last year’s storms, this remote and beloved island quietly reopened last Friday. Tucked at the mouth of Tampa Bay and only accessible by boat, Egmont Key is more than just a pristine beach escape—it’s a living piece of Florida history and an important wildlife refuge. From its iconic lighthouse to the remains of Fort Dade, there’s plenty to explore. Please keep in mind that some areas near the lighthouse remain closed, so please respect all posted signage and follow park staff instructions. And because this island is truly off the grid—no drinking water, no stores—come prepared with plenty of water, food, sunscreen, and a mindset to leave only footprints!
