We're roughly three weeks away from the start of the NCAA postseason, so it's a good time for a quick rundown of the players from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam who are currently on a Division I, II or III roster.
For perspective, only 3.3% of high school lacrosse players make the jump to Division I and only 8% land on a Division III roster, according to the latest NCAA figures. The number of Section 1 and CHSAA alums competing at the collegiate level indicates the participation rate of student/athletes with roots in a hotbed like Westchester is higher.
It should also be noted that only a select few recruits receive significant NIL or scholarship money to play college lacrosse.
