Thanks to the scholarships provided by Northwood School, the lives of six young men have changed radically. We have watched them steward what they’ve earned in the most inspiring way, with the First Team gaining a well-earned reputation as the top school in South Africa at the end of last season. What you might not know are the stories behind these players. They are heroes both on and off the court, at school, and most notably in their own communities. They face many challenges daily, some as simple as just navigating the commute to school and back safely. In order for the basketball program to remain sustainable, we need to bridge the gap between what is provided and what’s lacking, both for these players and future players who will come through the PeacePlayers program.
