Last Friday, Gallaudet University partnered with Apple TV+ for an exclusive screening of the documentary “Deaf President Now!” This event gathered students, faculty, staff, filmmakers, and distinguished guests to explore one of the most significant movements in the Deaf community’s history. The documentary highlights the landmark protests of 1988, when Gallaudet students demanded the appointment of a Deaf president for the university, marking a pivotal moment in advocacy for Deaf rights and representation.
