Earth Day will be on April 22, and a nonprofit is celebrating by cleaning up the community. Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International is hosting a cleanup in downtown Tuscaloosa April 22 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuscaloosa's sister city in Japan is Narashino, and they've been partners since 1986. Decades ago, citizens of Narashino, Japan, donated cherry trees to Tuscaloosa as a gift. Tuscaloosa honors this gift every year by cleaning up Narashino Cherry Blossom Grove where the trees are located. The grove is located at 2519 12th St. in Tuscaloosa, behind United Community bank.
