They don’t call us “Cigar City” for nothing! 🕰️ Founded in 1895 by Julius Caesar Newman, j.c.newmancigarco is now the last operating cigar company in the city and the oldest family-owned premium cigar maker in America. It’s headquartered in an iconic 113-year-old factory known as “El Reloj” in Historic Ybor City. In the 1900s, an influx of immigrants fueled Tampa’s growth - bringing languages, cultures, and traditions along with them, and turned our small town into a thriving large city. Tampa was once home to 150 cigar factories and “El Reloj” was considered to be the largest & finest cigar factory in the world when it was built in 1910. 💰The museum, theater, & store are FREE and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-5:30pm. Guided factory tours, cigar rolling classes, & tobacco tasting classes are available for purchase.
