All our favorite things, all in one masterpiece 😍🎨 📚 It was commissioned in 2003 by the City of Tampa & mayor at the time, Mayor Dick Greco. 🎨 Local artist Lynn Ash created the piece, weaving together our city’s unique character & identity — resulting in a collage of nearly 250 icons, portraits, and images of what makes Tampa so special. You’ll see icons like pirate ships, devil crabs, pelicans, local heros, landmarks, and more. As part of our Archives Awareness Week 2024, Ash presented on his inspiration & process to create the masterpiece over 20 years ago. Attendees also received signed copies of the work! #Tampa #LocalArt #TampaArt #cityoftampa 💡 Fun Fact: Ash broke both his arms during creating the work, so once in recovery, he had to paint the entire top half of the painting upside down! 📍 The original work is free & open to the public to view inside our City Center at Hanna Avenue (2555 E Hanna Avenue).
