Congratulations to James Thomas Tucker LLM'98, SJD'01 on receiving the President’s Special Merit Award from the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN)! James was recognized for his 2020 pro bono work with AFN ensuring that Alaska Natives were correctly counted in the 2020 census. He also served as counsel for AFN for several voting rights cases, representing Alaska Native voters. James is a Senior Special Counsel in the Voting Rights Project. A founding individual member of the Native American Voting Rights Coalition (NAVRC) in September 2021, James joined the Lawyers’ Committee, a founding organizational member of NAVRC.
