Spain is projected to be the world’s longest-lived country by 2030 and a week here has showed me why.
1) Lack of Loneliness: Spanish cities foster connection People fill cafes every afternoon to socialize.
2) Walkablity - Sevilla has cut off car traffic in the City Center. Instead, you can still roam the same labyrinthine streets the Moors did 800 years ago. Maintaining parks and public plazas has been a government priority for centuries.
3). Blue Zones Diet — Olive oil, quality bread, good bread and abudant fresh vegetables are the dietary staple.
4) Common Culture — During Holy Week, 100’s of 1000s of people—religious or not—pour into that streets to watch as 2-ton human-carried floats lumber down streets. Even in these vast crowds, absolute reverent silence descends; everyone feels connected.
