Six previous First Families of Pennsylvania spoke out about the fire that burned the Governor's Residence in Harrisburg over the weekend while Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were home.
The former governors and First Ladies issued a statement Friday saying the fire "shook each of us to our cores." They said they will work to help get "the people's house," which has been open to the public for tours, Trick-or-Treating and other events, back open soon.
"We stand united in support of Governor Shapiro, First Lady Shapiro, and the restoration of this beautiful home – and we are committed to quickly getting those doors back open once again for the people of Pennsylvania," they wrote.
The Shapiros meanwhile held a luncheon for firefighters yesterday as a way to say thank you for their quick response.
