A Book Review for Kiss and Spell 🪄
I never know what to expect when I hear “paranormal romance” but if it’s written by Celestine Martin, I know it’ll be worth it.
After reading (and enjoying) Witchful Thinking, I HATED Ursula. She was so nasty to Lucy and I did not want to hear anything else about her. So imagine my surprise when I find out Kiss and Spell is about her love story??? I won’t lie, I walked into the story prepared to focus on the romantic elements of the book - bring on the dates and the magical mess of Freya Grove! However, I quickly found myself sympathizing with Ursula and her horrible breakup. Then comes Xavier, who’s the sweetest romance-hater I’ve ever seen. Their banter and interactions had me quickly rooting for them even as they tried to avoid the relationship.
I enjoyed the supporting cast and how each of their families showed up for them when they needed it.
Overall, the burn was slow, spice was there and and I look forward to Deja Brew releasing this fa...
