For yesterday’s Independent Book Store Day, I stopped by my two favorite Black owned Independent stores! Ujamaa Community Bookstore is exactly what the name entails. They have so MUCH weekly community programming for all ages. I hope to get to the gardening day in a couple of weeks. The store has a variety of books, mostly for and by Black people, across genres! Loud Mouth is your local banned bookstore near 16th and Delaware. The store is small but the shelves are FILLED with all the newest books by authors of color. They have plenty of author signings so they probably have a signed copy from your fave. The children's + YA section is the cutest and my fave part!
