Today we honor the life of Martin Luther King Jr. When we think of Dr King’s legacy, we most often think about his nonviolent approach to civil rights. He’s often remembered as a servant leader and pro-integration. While there’s so much more to the minister, at his core - he was all about love. His teachings and ideas guided much of bell hooks’ understanding on spirituality as love. MLK is the first person hooks’ references in the chapter so after reading chapter 5 late last night, I felt it was only right to post this recap today.
