This book is the perfect blend of history and fantasy. This book taught me about Gullah culture and introduced me to haints. This book showed me just how successful one can be with strong women and tradition in your corner. Yet, my greatest takeaway from this book is that it’s okay to free yourself from your trauma. In short, Ring Shout is the story of three brave Black women, Maryse, Chef and Sadie, who were called to hunt Ku Kluxes.
