All of us at MacJournalism would like to congratulate junior Max Satterwhite for being named last week’s statesman Austin-Area Boys Athlete of the Week. The junior slugger and ace earned the nomination with a dominant two-way performance in which he went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double, driving in three runs. He also struck out five over five innings of work on the mound. In the balloting last week, Mac Nation showed up at the polls, delivering 4,555 votes for their stalwart Knight more than 3,000 votes ahead of any other nominee. Satterwhite and his teammates close the district season with an home-and-home series this week. The Knights travel to Bastrop on Tuesday then host the Bears at Northwest Pony Field on Friday.
