Tight hips? Grab a lacrosse ball.
Rolling out key spots like your piriformis, TFL, and upper hamstring can work wonders for unlocking hip mobility.
• The piriformis helps rotate your hip and stabilize your pelvis—tightness here can mess with both movement and comfort.
• The TFL (front/side hip) often picks up the slack for weak glutes and gets overworked—cue tension.
• The upper hamstring connects right into your pelvis, so loosening it up can improve both hip flexion and extension.
Hips respond well to fluid movement, mobilization, and activation (of muscles). Try moving through 15-20 of each of these!
Take the time to hit these zones and your hips (and squats, and lunges, and runs) will thank you.
