When you start long-distance cycling, the city opens up in ways you never noticed before. Streets that once blurred by in a car suddenly have texture—cracks in the pavement, the scent of a bakery you never knew existed, murals tucked between alleyways. You start to understand the rhythm of neighborhoods, how the skyline shifts as you cross districts, and how the energy of the city changes from block to block. Cycling slows things down just enough to notice the details but keeps you moving fast enough to cover serious ground. The city stops being a blur and starts becoming a story you read one pedal stroke at a time. I even got to see some horseys along the way lucky me.
