KNIGHTS 12, EAGLES 2: The JV1 baseball team routed Cedar Creek on Tuesday April 8 at Cedar Creek High School. Freshman pitcher Cormac Murph said he felt good throughout the game and that it was a cool experience since he’s only pitched a couple of times this season. “I felt comfortable up there on the mound, and I think I had a good defense [behind me],” Murph said. Murph said since the team run-ruled Cedar Creek he was feeling good and he felt proud of his performance and the team’s. “It just felt really good to contribute to the win,” Murph said. The Knights followed that win up with a home 12-4 win over Cedar Creek Saturday April 12 to complete the season sweep in district play. The JV1 squad concludes district play with a home-and-home against Bastrop this week. Game 1 of the series is underway currently at Nelson Field. Game 2 is Friday night in Bastrop.
