When Tuck and I started the band, he promised me that one day I would return to Brazil more meaningfully, and it finally happened with the making of this album 🙂 In interviews, my love of Brazilian music is often reduced to ‘bossa nova’ because that’s what I was most inspired by when I first met Tuck, but I’ve always wanted to explore more Brazilian genres, and we really got to do that on butter.
