🏛️ Today, Recording Academy leaders and members culminated #GRAMMYsOnTheHill Advocacy Day at a press conference on Capitol Hill with Senators Chris Coons and Marsha Blackburn and Reps. Madeleine Dean and Maria Salazar to announce the reintroduction of the NO FAKES Act, a bipartisan, bicameral bill that would advance creators’ rights by protecting their voices and likenesses from the unauthorized creation and use of digital replicas. 🎵 The Academy has helped spearhead efforts to protect creators in the age of AI from the very beginning, and in 2024, we saw the successful passage of the ELVIS Act in Tennessee, which inspired similar legislation in California and Illinois. ❤️ With balanced remedies and protections for free speech, the NO Fakes Act has received widespread support across the creative community.
