Rate of closure talk…
If the clubface is closing (twisting) less through the ball, will the player hit it better? It’s a great theory
But Phil Mickelson twisted the heck out of the shaft and had a “high rate of closure” …he was still pretty good!
I believe you should work on your mechanics to get the release in a reasonable spot, then train your hands and skills to be elite at controlling it 👊
Things that help slow the closure rate:
🔹 Shallow shaft
🔹 Bent trail arm at impact
🔹 Handpath curving around the corner
🔹 Rotation
🔹 Having the face strong enough (closed/square)
🔹 Many more
I’m not saying you have to chase these things! This is for showcasing Viktor’s awesome swing only 😁 the Valspar champ!
PS Instead of rate of closure, it should be called closure per displacement - so the reading doesn’t change based on club speed (Chris Como preaches that)
