Golfers fight open club faces and steep, over the top swings all over the world.
In my opinion, these swings don’t just happen naturally ❌
Imagine you meet a young kid who’s watched golf, but never actually played. You ask them “have you seen Tiger Woods? Show me what he does for a sport” - the kid takes a stick/umbrella and mimics a swing 🏌️♂️
Now, imagine what this “swing” would look like. Would the player shove their hands out toward the ball? Would they struggle to shift their weight? Would they come 15 degrees over the top?
Or would they make a beautiful, on-plane, back and forward motion? 🤔
I can almost guarantee you it would look incredible!
So how do players develop an over the top move? The open clubface…
Every golfer likely starts with a decent swing plane. However, because of poor grip/wrist alignments, their clubface ends up being open and golf balls go to the right. Time, after time, after time. Round after round, year after year.
