The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) President Rasha Elwakil was put up for a vote of removal from the Assembly a week after being sworn in.
MENA Caucus representative E Saba motioned for the removal of President Rasha Elwakil. That motion was then seconded by at-large representative Josh Meert.
Immediately following, motions were made for the condition under which discussions would proceed.
“In general discussion, for the anonymity of the people who would like to speak on this, I move that President Elwakil leave the room and only come back when a representative has a successful motion to bring her back in,” Saba, a fourth-year studying international politics, said. “I'd like to motion to go back into a closed session so that way we can save the anonymity of our representatives.”
When the session re-opened, Saba motioned to stand before the assembly to answer the questions from fellow representatives.
